Want to know why people accept evolution ?
by snare&racket indo you have questions about or want to understand evolution?
it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.
we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

When a Jehovah's Witness asks "When are you coming back to the Truth"

I have said, " And which truth would that happen to be ? Would it be the 'truth' i was taught as a child and preached for years ? Or the new truth they are teaching now ? ....No thanks I am happy now ,why would I go back to something that only caused me to feel bad about myself and made me unhappy ?"
I have said this to an Elder before, and he didn't have much more to say to me after that ......

My husband had pain in his hip,and after all the testing found out it was refered pain from lower back area which is the actual problem . The discs in his lower back are wearing down and causing pressure on nerves which in turn refers to pain in hip and sometimes numbness in his feet .

FL Panther , When you are raised in the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses most of the time it is a very sheltered way of growing up . Do yourself a favor and begin reading ,and learning all you can about life . Prepare yourself for adult hood ,for being on your own .Read self help kind of books on how to be successful in life .Get advice from respected teachers or other adults (maybe someone you work with ) in your life . Educate yourself !!
You are a young adult looking to have your own life and making your own decisions .Thinking independently is frowned upon in the Organization ,why do you think that is ? They use to preach all the time not to listen to our own hearts because of the scripture that says "the heart is treacherous who can know it " ,but as a grown adult I can tell you that advice was WRONG ! Living a life not true to oneself is no life at all . Listen to your conscience ,follow what your gut or heart 'tells' you . Because if you repress those leanings it turns to anxiety and depression . Life is very short ,it should be lived to the fullest doing what makes you the most happy ,and brings joy to others . Now is YOUR time to find out what that means to you .
Please don't waste so much time worrying about what the Elders will or won't do .If you are working and are outof school make a plan to move out on your own .Get a roommate if that helps with the bills . There were good things you learned as a Witness (you said) so take the good with you as you grow . So many young ones have felt so repressed that they leave and get into things that really do cause them heartache ,but that does not have to be you .
It is not wrong to want to grow up away from your family and to stand on your own . Best Wishes to you !

Shared some TTATT with my wife and now she wants us to have a weekly personal bible study
by suavojr inhere is the situation.... a young 19 year old in our congo had a fallout with his parents because of all the restrictions and jw dogma and moved out of the house last wednesday.. to make the story short, the parents went running to the elders and what was the comfort?.
coe said: i saw that coming!
your son never reached out to get baptized.. then the other elder said: don't worry, you still have one left that will be saved.

Can you and your wife offer to be a friend to the 19 yr old ? Reaching out not to be judgemental ,but just caring friends ? It could be beneficial for your wife if she sees how much better it feels to be just a normal kind person than one that must follow Watchtower policy .
I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness for 40 yrs . What helped open my eyes was seeing how the organization DID NOT reflect the message Jesus was promoting . Studying 'The Greatest Man " book at our book study started me thinking how much attention was drawn away from Jesus ,and to the GB.
About this same time a circumstance arose in our hall with an 18 yr old girl that needed some help . I found out then that the 'brothers' had no idea how to apply the 'good samaritian ' lesson from the Bible ,all they could do was parrot 'Society' guidelines that we should be more involved in the preaching work than 'social' work . This was the beginning of the end for me . When you personally witness how cold ,and unloving the organization truly can be it is a slap to the face . It happens all the time ,but goes unnoticed until it personally affects someone close to you . The Elder body is more about finding fault than helping out ....this happens every where not just your hall !
Keep focusing your wife on how this situation could be handled better by just showing love .
When I quit attending I read Romans ,and Acts without the Watchtower influence . I also listened to a Minister give a discourse on those books of the Bible ,and I was touched . Love ,and Grace were explained in a way I had never been taught all those years as a Witness .
Over time I have come to my own conclusions about God,religion, and the Bible . Which are far removed from where I began .
Best wishes to you and your situation .

Is it possible in your situation to just stop associating with the JW's ? Fading works well for some ,but only if you can stay under the Elders radar .
If this is not the case for you then dissassociating is the next best thing . DF or DA the annonouncement is the same -that you are no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses . Just remember you do not owe them any explaination that you personally do not want to reveal . Just because they ask a million questions does not mean you must answer them .
The only power they have is what you give them .
It is not an easy thing to leave the control of this religion ,but IT IS possible ,and over time you will see freedom is well worth the effort.
Good luck with whatever route you decide .

Lies taught by the GB about ....Life, Worldy people & apostates
by williamhconley inthe governing body not only lies to it's members about their true history but also about life itself, worldly people and former members.. here are some of those lies that come to my mind.. .
"jw's are the happiest people on earth" -.
fact: depression, anxiety, fear of punishment, paranoia, is what jw's live with every day.
